Gremlins

Wait a minute. What happened to Rock n Roll?

I thought this was rock n roll week, isn’t that the theme? What the eff?

Lisabet, if you’re reading this, now you know why my comment on your post sounded a little odd to you. I thought we were doing rock n roll. Sincerely I don’t get this.

I hate when this happens. And it happens a lot. I go to the supermarket and pick out my favorite coffee and discover it’s mysteriously turned to Maxwell House instead when I take it out of the bag at home. Gremlins. The universe turns a little dosie-do and a frozen Digiorno Supreme Pizza with cheese stuffed crust turns into a Family Value cheese pizza when I get home. And they still charged me seven bucks. Gremlins have stolen my receipt. This happens a lot. I don’t believe in the devil. But I believe in Gremlins.

So I don’t know, yesterday I spent some time and wrote what seemed like a decent first draft on the subject of rock n roll, I liked it anyway, I was off to a good start for today - and what the eff? Excuses? Who needs excuses when you've got Gremlins.

I'm sorry. I thought we writing about something else. I don’t know what happened.

This is far and away the shortest and crappiest post I've made here. Gremlins stole my theme.

And not only that - you probably think I'm kidding.

  1. Hi, Garce,

    I had put "Rock and Roll" on the schedule, but not for this week - for the end of the month. Then I changed it to next January because my guest (an ex-rocker I know from high school) is too busy and stressed out to handle the post now.

    This week belongs to Ash - he came up with "Excuses" (a bit late, which I think is what gave him the idea... ;^)

    Anyway, I think you're right about Gremlins. And your post, though short, is a worthy contribution to the theme!

    Sorry!

    Best,
    Lisabet

  3. I liked your post. I can relate to it in a very immediate way! I spent most of last night on the phone trying to co-ordinate two friends. They'd fixed to meet up in one place but the one who suggested where they should meet actually went somewhere else about two blocks away and they were walking round looking for each other for about 2 hours. Fortunately they both had cellphones (or mobile phones as well call them in the UK).

    And I've just realised Monday didn't happen for me. Gremlins must have stolen it...

  4. Garce,

    Short: yes. Crappy: no. My bad on the 11th hour nature of this week's topic. My excuses will be coming tomorrow.

    Best,

    Ash

  5. Lol! Its not just me. Well, it's different for me. It doesn't happen as frequent and has a lot to do with spoons.There are random disappearances here and there too. My daughter and I associate them to a Bogart, a pissed off Brownie or a Brownie being mischievous.
    Don't ask I lived in a magical world with my daughter. :)

  7. Hi Lisabet

    I'm glad to know this wasn't an accident. I was sinking into an existentially paranoid funk. I was thinking the Universe was out to get me. I do think it is, just not this time. . .

  9. Hi Fulani;

    The gremlins are out there. They will steal whole days from you if you let them. Not the least grocery receipts.

  11. Hi River;

    I knew pissed off Brownies when I was a kid in cub scouts. But that was my fault.

    Bogarts. Hmn.

  12. Hi Clauda;

    Yes, the gremlins are out there.

    It occurs to me, I haven;t seen any of the old AMC gremlins. I wonder if they're extinct.

  13. But, interestingly, it fit perfectly well!

    And, by the way, I'm sure you know better than to piss off a Brownie now. It could actually be much worse to piss of a Junior or a Cadet, much less a Senior. I'm just saying. Always remember to buy cookies!
