The book has been out of print for quite a while. There's a story behind how I came to write for it; I had sent a different story to a Masquerade magazine just when Masquerade was about to fold as a publisher (who's old enough to remember Masquerade erotica?) and the editor there forwarded it to Paula, who was working on an invitation-only basis. That story wasn't right at all for her purpose, as I could have told them myself, but she offered to consider another one if I wrote it, clearly pretty sure that if I did, it wouldn't measure up. Challenge accepted! The story I wrote then is sadly outdated these days, when anybody can use CGI tricks and make YouTube videos, but it involved characters making "specialty" videos for a paying clientele. The female narrator is clearly unreliable, and the male character is clearly nuts, as evidenced by such proclivities as occasionally asking her to use a hypodermic needle on his most tender private parts, but more to the point (so to speak) he's been messing around with a minor porn actress they've hired for some of their videos the narrator doesn't want to bother with. The scenario in the story is supposed to involve simulated knife play with one of those retractable knives, but the narrator has replaced the knife with a real one, and sets up the scene so that she herself gets some superficial wounds, while he gets very dead, and she has managed to rig things so that she has filmed evidence of having killed him in self-defense. There are a lot of darkly erotic (and even rather artistic) details involved in the course of the story, but it would take too long to describe them, even if I remembered them clearly. <br />Sacchi Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10801164916418570059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-74940769925484653382016-04-09T14:32:43.360-04:002016-04-09T14:32:43.360-04:00This is marvelously plausible shifter story.
