On the other hand seeing a person standing shyly by thedishwasher is easy to relate to. I'd want to say hi and ask her if she's all right.

GarceGarceushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11160407485298015371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-63073889755222902692010-07-16T02:01:15.121-04:002010-07-16T02:01:15.121-04:00Kathleen,

She is the centre of the story but I need to have fully understood her motives before I progress much further :-)

Best,

AshAshley Listerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11997769708965362938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-18853640774779049472010-07-15T09:10:28.822-04:002010-07-15T09:10:28.822-04:00Hi Lisabet,

In Shirley Valentine there was the pathetic fallacy of the wall which she used to talk to. Shirley had lengthy conversations with the wall, which gave us a resounding insight into the dynamics of her character.

In this section we see the dynamics of an invisible woman being glimpsed by a shrewd narrator. As it progresses the narrator also shows that, although he's the first person to see the invisible woman, he's also blind to most other things in his life.

I think this is why I love characters in fiction so much. They can be endlessly fascinating, even when they're hiding at a party.

Ash (who is delighted to hear that you think Once Bitten is a scream).Ashley Listerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11997769708965362938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-84111877307843407442010-07-15T09:09:19.116-04:002010-07-15T09:09:19.116-04:00I love this scene, Ashley!
