I will definitely let you know what I think when I've finished reading --it's a hefty book, and I'm impressed that Rowling put in that much effort when she doesn't need to work for money, ever again. I'm getting the sense that she wanted to address several social issues that would have been out of place in a Harry Potter novel (poverty & drug addiction, among others). If only I didn't need to sleep now and then.Jean Robertahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08805088081675965859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-13066172784163413452012-10-21T13:31:45.999-04:002012-10-21T13:31:45.999-04:00Hi Jean!

But I can imaginewhat preassure in a way must be on her as she makes this transition from wild success to a more conevntional form of writing. It would be like the when the Beatles split up and made solo albums. They were okay but they weren't the Beatles. Rowling is okay but she's not J K Rowling.

Garce
Garceushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11160407485298015371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-57796339172469003392012-10-21T01:21:48.638-04:002012-10-21T01:21:48.638-04:00Hi, Jean,

My TBR pile is, as usual, teetering, but I'm tempted. It would be a nice change to read a book set in England where every one isn't doomed upper class and WWII isn't forever on the near horizon.Kathleen Bradeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06347913255760493335noreply@blogger.com
