Except for the smut part of course.

Its amazing how many twists and turns a persons studies can take before you land on that perfect thing. I suspect you were cut out for many things though. Perhaps that's why I still don't have a finished novel :-)

As for writing sex scenes in your old age - I can think of worse ways to spend retirement.Mike Kimerahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18002309169478171450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-91051702239230307822010-04-25T15:01:11.827-04:002010-04-25T15:01:11.827-04:00Hi Lisabet,

It strikes me that the business/financial aspects seem especially useful to have (I may in part feel that way because I have not thus far felt similarly oriented or proficient...at all.)

I relate to both the variety of things you wanted to be (though I tended to simply "want to be" them less than actually pursuing them academically and professionally as you did) as well as the quite unexpected and seemingly unpredictable opportunities that you ended up seizing. When I look back at the aspirations I had a decade or more ago (and those that I didn't have!), it seems really rather amazing to me. ...A former high school classmate just sent me a Facebook friend request accompanied by an email that read simply: Subject line="A bit of a change..." Message="...from the girl who sat behind me in algebra class." Heh.

Thank you for sharing!Emeraldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00819037087504004841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-62894144007234348312010-04-25T12:35:05.599-04:002010-04-25T12:35:05.599-04:00I was sure that I'd need to major in English t...I was sure that I'd need to major in English to be a writer. I can identify with much of it, too: for me, college was a time of winnowing down the many things I'd thought I was potentially interested in pursuing to a very few passions, often by discovering how boring or otherwise off-putting various fields became to me once I got deeply enough immersed in them. And the phenonemon of skills developed in the service of one sort of career proving useful later on in an entirely different type of career is also something I've experienced (thank goodness).Jeremy Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01980177431018869829noreply@blogger.com
