Our houses ARE our suitcase...Great post, Willsin.

Our houses ARE our suitcases, to a very large extent. That's why I'm so happy I don't have one (a house, I mean). The process of moving from the US to Asia, sorting through more than twenty years of accumulated stuff, really confirmed me in me a dedication to reducing our material footprint.Lisabet Saraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05162514190572269660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-23943083674441941472017-09-25T13:26:32.971-04:002017-09-25T13:26:32.971-04:00I only ever moved house once, over 30 years ago. I...I only ever moved house once, over 30 years ago. It's NEVER happening again. Too stressful, definitely on the too bloody difficult pile. They can carry me out of here in a box, that'll do fine. We still have boxes, never unpacked, in our loft from last timeAshe Barkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03390519279886657608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9156334464585894857.post-55281021515496312002017-09-23T21:18:33.513-04:002017-09-23T21:18:33.513-04:00We've been in our place for 36 years, but befo...We've been in our place for 36 years, but before that we kinda floated around. We'd move to a new house or apartment just for the change of it all. We also hit the jackpot with property values here about 30 miles north of San Francisco. Considering savings accounts these days, our house has been our best savings venue. Dumb luck.

And as you say, things pile up. Glad I'm an antiques/second hand merchandise dealer to sell all the damn stuff. That teaches one to at least buy quality objects that may hold their value. Of course, burned-out barbecues and broken lawn furniture aren't really resellable. :>)Daddy Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12927663248424944119noreply@blogger.com
