By the time you read this, I will hopefully be in Japan, enjoying the final days of a holiday, eating sushi, riding on bullet trains, visiting ancient temples and castles and all the other activities that are popular in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Hopefully I will not have died in a plane crash, or have been buried in the aftermath of an earthquake. If I am, well, carry on! I loved my life and I wouldn't change a moment.
I'm writing this almost two weeks before the post date. There's no topic posted yet for this week, and I don't want to hassle Kathleen just for my convenience. So I'll just say hello and tell you to have fun in my absence.
Watch this space for something more substantial next week!
Hi Lisabet
ReplyDeleteWell, do well in Japan and get back safe.

Erm... Sharazade's recently published collection of erotic travel tales, Transported, has one set in a Japanese hot spring hotel (the story's called 'Onsen'). I know about this because I recently reviewed it. I'd treat the story as both an encouragement and a reminder about being beware of unfamiliar cultures... or maybe it's not unfamiliar to you? Have fun anyway!
ReplyDeleteLisabet - sorry about the late topic post.
ReplyDeleteHello, all,
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm back - and impressed that you've bothered to comment on my mostly content-less post!
Actually, Fulani, we visited a famous onsen resort town (called Beppu), but we never did actually participate because almost all the onsens are actually gender-segregated, with separate pools for men and women. A few have mixed pools but given that there's almost no English available, it's hard to discover which ones!
Warmly,
Lisabet
Lisabets back! Lisabets back!
