Intimate Jewelry

Ahhhh. Corsette piercing. Isn't it pretty? No? I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder. The subject this week is BDSM. Piercing and body jewelry is one small aspect of the BDSM world. There are others... cuffs, collars, leashes, and an increasingly bizarre collection of gear--some of which we won't discuss on this blog.

I was challenged to discuss body jewelry. In a tasteful way. Hmmm. I have earned a certain reputation for having body piercing in quite a few of my books, along with tattoos. I believe that some people might even believe that I'm a depraved person. However, one only has to query the internet using the word piercing along with the name of a body part to find out that my books border on the vanilla when it comes to piercing.

Piercing and the accompanying jewelry frequently plays a prominent part in romances featuring BDSM. In the master/submissive relationship, the master might request his submissive to consent to piercing so that she is wearing body jewelry that identifies her as his. That jewelry can include, though it certainly is not limited to rings, chains, barbells, and charms. Depending on the depth of the bondage part of the relationship, less permanent non-piercing body jewelry might be employed.

Body jewelry is sold on a myriad of web sites, but the actual piercing should be done by a professional. There are too many nerves involved, not to mention other things to fool around with the possibility of permanent damage. If one of my readers is tempted to experiment, then certainly make sure that you seek the services of a professional who is familiar with body piercing.

For those new to experimentation, I suggest trying out non-invasive jewelry first. There is a lot to choose from if only you surf the web.

  1. I'm such a baby about pain! Only my ears are pierced, although when my bff got her naval pierced, it looked pretty, and I briefly considered it. However, she's got the nice flat tummy and I do not. So unless something changes, I won't be getting any jewelry that wouldn't normally be seen!

And that picture makes my back hurt just looking at it:)

  2. Oh Anny, Anny, Anny. After our discussion last night I see why you say vanilla... and yet you definitely aren't! Folks the sites she took me to was an adventure, lemme tell ya.

Try the search thing. You have no idea how unusual it gets out there. Some stuff I just had no idea you could pierce without it ripping off in the midst of, um, activity.

  5. Fascinating post, Anny. And after doing a brief search, I too am amazed at what things people are willing to have pierced.

  6. EWWWWW. That sooooo hurts to look at!!! Nope, this is not for me. I have pieced ears and that's it. The belly button stuff is cute but I'd never do it. One of my son's old girlfriends once told me she passed out after having her belly button pierced and that it hurt soooo badly. YIKES.

  7. The only 'piercing' I like is the one done in already existing holes! :D
